along Highway 101, from just south of Cloverdale to east of
Healdsburg, the Alexander Valley appellation is divided into
two regions; the cooler southern end has an ideal climete
for Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer grapes, and the northern
end which is warmer and better suited for Zinfandel and
Rhone-style varietals.
